Transmission Problems?

Don’t assume it needs a rebuild. We diagnose the complaint, repair what can be repaired, and only recommend a remanufactured replacement when the transmission is internally worn out.

Slipping is not an automatic “new transmission”

A hard shift, delayed engagement, flare, or “check engine / transmission” light can come from fluid, a cooler line, a solenoid, a sensor, a mount, or a computer strategy — not just worn clutches inside the case.

We do not rebuild transmissions in the shop. What we do is diagnose them correctly, repair the items that actually failed when that is the right fix, and if the unit needs a rebuild, recommend a remanufactured replacement for warranty sake.

How we approach it

1. Confirm the complaint We road-test when it is safe to do so, scan the transmission and engine computers, and look at fluid condition and level. The goal is to separate an electrical or external problem from an internal one.
2. Repair what can be repaired If the diagnosis points to a serviceable item — fluid and filter service when appropriate, solenoids, external seals, cooler lines, mounts, or related engine issues — we repair that first. That is often far less money than a unit replacement.
3. Reman when a rebuild is needed If the transmission is internally damaged and needs a rebuild, we recommend a remanufactured replacement instead of an in-house rebuild. That gives you a consistent unit and a stronger warranty.
4. Warranty that means something The remanufactured transmissions we recommend come with a 3-year parts and labor warranty, unlimited mileage. Our own shop repairs carry the standard 12-month / 12,000-mile warranty.

When you should come in

Why this matters

Guessing “it needs a rebuild” is how people spend thousands they did not need to spend — or keep driving a unit that is already making metal. Diagnosis first protects both your wallet and the vehicle.

If a reman is the right call, you leave with a 3-year, unlimited-mileage parts and labor warranty instead of a short in-house rebuild promise.
