Warm air is not automatically “a compressor”
A weak A/C can be low refrigerant from a leak, a blend-door or control issue, a condenser fan, a pressure switch, a restriction, or a compressor that really has failed. Charging a leaking system without finding the leak is how the same complaint comes back next summer.
We service both older R134a systems and newer R-1234yf systems. Mixing the two, or using the wrong machine, is not an option.
How we diagnose A/C
When you should come in
- Air is warm, or cold only at highway speed
- The system worked, then slowly got weaker
- You hear the compressor click on and off rapidly
- Musty smell or weak airflow from the vents
- The A/C light is on but nothing feels cold
Why this matters
A “fill it up” A/C service on a leaking or restricted system wastes money and can damage the compressor. Testing first is how we keep the recommendation honest — the same way we handle check engine lights and transmissions.
